Capability Consulting

Work out what capability the organisation really needs, where the gap is and what is preventing it, before anyone commissions a solution.

The questions

Five questions that come before any solution.

  1. What capability does the organisation actually need?
  2. What does good performance look like?
  3. Where is the gap?
  4. What is preventing it?
  5. What combination of changes will close it?

Defence

DSAT-aligned analysis where it is required.

Jason Smith is a DSAT specialist and has led DSAT-aligned Training Needs Analysis on Defence programmes. Where an organisation works to the Defence Systems Approach to Training and JSP 822, the analysis is built to be defensible within that framework.

The same discipline applies outside Defence: be clear about the performance required, gather evidence before deciding, and choose the smallest effective intervention.

Prelude is independent and is not part of, affiliated with or endorsed by the Ministry of Defence.

Not sure where the capability gap is?

That is usually the right place to start a conversation.
