My career began in the Royal Navy, where I spent years in operational leadership — responsible for people, performance and readiness in demanding, high-pressure environments. There, capability isn't a slide in a deck; it's whether your team can deliver when it matters.
Over 23+ years I've moved from operational leadership into capability development and workforce performance — building training and assurance to exacting Defence standards, and learning to connect what happens on the ground with what the board needs to see.
Today I bring that perspective to Defence, Healthcare, Housing, the wider public sector and — through my time as a Korn Ferry consultant — professional services firms, as an independent capability advisor who has actually operated inside the environments my clients work in.
